- As part of a wider project for Philips Semiconductors, now NXP Semiconductors, RUSHBOOK was involved in specifying witnessing and reporting on fire testing of a polypropylene fume exhaust duct

- The fire test was set up to replicate the FM 4922 approval test using a 176 kW heptane pan fire as the energy source
- The warm air from the fire source was drawn into the 300mm diameter polypropyplene duct at velocities up to 9m/s to recreate the conditions typically found in a semiconductor wafer fab fume exhaust system

- Tests were carried out at the Rushbrook Laboratory, Edinburgh University
