  • Compartmentation survey of hospital for an NHS Trust

Services

  • Conducted a survey which revealed issues with the fire rated walls within the hospital that would affect fire spread within the building 
  • Prepared worksheets to comment on the location, method of construction, fixing methods, sealing of junctions and penetrations of the fire rated walls 
  • Provided recommendations based on a risk ranking matrix to help client prioritise the necessary work.

  • Development of Fire Safety Strategy for Operations Room, communications and secure electrical supply systems
  • A combination of fire protection and fire segregation of redundant equipment systems was designed to ensure continued availability of all services for any fire situation occurring within the complex
  • Strong fire separation for the Operations Room ensures continued habitability and avoids the need for evacuation for any foreseeable fire

  • Modern prison complex with secure accommodation and workshop facility

Services

  • Development of Fire Safety Strategy for all areas. Use of pre-cast concrete panels for building construction and careful choice of materials for furnishings and fittings ensure a low probability of fire. Fire segregation provisions prevent spread of fire and smoke within buildings 
  • Procedures for phased evacuation of occupants to adjacent secure fire segregated areas ensure safety of occupants while maintaining security in the event of any fire arising

  • Conversion of former BT building to residential flats and maisonettes

  • Development of smoke clearance proposals for phased occupation of residential accommodation
  • Fire safety engineering studies were carried out to demonstrate the tenability of escape routes from occupied upper floors while construction work continued on the lower floors
  • The project involved meetings and negotiations on behalf of the developers with Fire Service and Building Control representatives.

  • Fire risk assessment of social housing conducted for a local Council.

  • RUSHBROOK surveyed roofs of houses which utilised a type of construction that was implicated in promoting fire to spread from one house to another through the roof space 
  • With over 150 of these buildings within its housing stock, the Council required a cost effective solution 
  • Rushbrook provided the council with a specification to improve fire safety reduce the risks to tenants and reduces the risk of property damage in the event of a fire
