Al Brown, Managing Director

Al Brown is one of Europe’s leading specialists in property fire risk assessment and risk engineering. Over the years he has undertaken fire and risk engineering projects for clients in the electronics and semiconductor industries at major production facilities in the UK, Europe, the US and Asia. 

He has particular expertise in specialist manufacturing equipment, process fire risk assessment and cleanroom fire safety, including SEMI S3, SEMI S14 and ATEX evaluation, and is experienced in fire investigation and forensic engineering

In addition to major clients in the electronics industry in Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific, Al has undertaken projects in sectors ranging from commercial property and prisons to the pulp and paper, rubber products, food processing and oil and marine industries.

David Lange, Fire Safety Engineer 

David Lange completed his M.Eng. at the University of Edinburgh in Structural Engineering with Architecture in 2004.

Having taken courses in Fire Dynamics and Fire Engineering over the course of his undergraduate degree, David immediately began studies for a PhD in Fire Safety Engineering. His PhD research was in the development of a risk based framework for performance based structural fire engineering. David completed his PhD at the end of 2008 and has developed skills in the analytical and numerical analysis of static and dynamic problems including the effects of heat transfer and propagation through structural assemblies.

His consultancy projects include a wide range of fire safety engineering reports for buildings in construction and under renovation including risk and performance based solutions, as well as compartmentation surveys for a hospital and numerous fire risk assessments.   David has also completed projects in Asia including risk profiling and Risk Mitigation Stratgey development for consumer products  and plasma TV assembly facilities.

Dave is Chartered Electrical Engineer and an experienced Product Safety Consultant with 19 years experience in the electronics and semiconductor industries. He has extensive semiconductor manufacturing equipment product safety experience including responsibility for achieving compliance against international regulations and industry standards, including CE marking Directives (Low Voltage, Machinery, ATEX, RTTE, PE,EMC directives), including design review, hazard analysis using HAZOP, FMEA and FTA techniques, risk assessments and hosting of third party compliance reviews including SEMI S2 and S14.

Peter Todd, Sprinkler Designer

Peter has 37 years experience in sprinkler design including projects ranging from small shop units, larger retail stores with tank and pumps, specialist projects in Buildings of Historical Interest. His design capability and experience includes current BS 5306-2 and BS EN 12845, FM Global and NFPA Standards as well as individual consultant specifications. Peter also has trained in sprinkler design to BS 9251:2004 for Domestic and Residential protection.

His extensive experience in sprinkler design and installation projects provides a wealth of experience that is available to be used to assist clients in not only fire protection design, but in the development of fire protection specifications, tender reviews, design review, field review of installations, as well as witnessing acceptance testing and commissioning on behalf of clients.

John Logie, co-founder, Technical Director & Chairman 1999 to 2008 Print E-mail

John Logie, Technical Director John Logie was Technical Director and Chairman of RUSHBROOK from the start up in November 1999 until his retirement in November 2008.  John is a highly-experienced fire engineer who achieved international recognition for his work in the nuclear power generation sector and contributed to the fire protection of nuclear power generation sites for more than 25 years.  His extensive experience of fire risk assessment and fire safety engineering for many other large industrial sites, including semiconductor manufacturing and electrical power generation result in him undertaking a number of expert witness instructions before his retirement in 2008 

John contributed significantly to the development and management of the company and the individuals engineers and consultants during his time at RUSHBROOK, and we are all grateful for his time and his willingnes to share his talents and experience with the RUSHBROOK Team.

We thank him for his contributions and wish John and his wife Liz, a long an happy retirement in the South of France.
